The Cleveland Browns have long been at the bottom of the AFC North and have gone through quarterback after quarterback to try and climb from the basement and into the playoff race. After some surprising moves this offseason to the roster up to the front office, the Browns are looking to bring Moneyball to the NFL. This will be year 1 of the experiment. After 14 draft picks, something has to work for the team.

The Johnny Football era has come and gone. The Browns held on as long as they could, but finally had to cut ties with the troubled quarterback. Now the team can focus on the competition between Griffin, incumbent Josh McCown and rookie Cody Kessler. The word out of camp is that this is Griffin’s spot to lose.
If Griffin were to win the starting job, he will have some help to succeed. LT Joe Thomas will still be covering his blindside while he throws to fellow Baylor Bears rookie Corey Coleman and recently reinstated Josh Gordon. Griffin has some speedy receivers to help him restart his career. The Browns made sure to sign Pro Bowl tight end Gary Barnidge to a three year extension to bring stability to the passing game.
